Fears start with an experience, coupled with a negative thought about the experience and attached to a negative emotion that occurred in that experience. The experience could even be hearing someone talk about their own experiences or watching something on television or in a movie. When you put these three things together: experience, negative thought and negative emotion, you develop an irrational belief. That belief resides in your subconscious mind.
